Holiday Inn Convention & Trade Center – Chattanooga, Tennessee
The Hotel is a 16-story, 350-room Holiday Inn located in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Hotel facility constitutes an integral part of a major real estate development in downtown Chattanooga which includes a new 1,200 parking garage and the new Trade and Convention Center containing approximately 164,000 square feet, both of which have been constructed, owned and operated by Carter Street Corporation, a non-profit entity of the City of Chattanooga.
The Hotel Tower is constructed within the air rights above a portion of the Ancillary Hotel facility containing approximately 173,000 gross square feet which includes a Concierge Floor consisting of twelve suites.
The Hotel includes glass elevators, a gourmet restaurant, a family restaurant, an entertainment lounge, an intimate lobby bar and banquet and meeting facilities for both convention and smaller groups. In addition, there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a health spa with saunas and an exercise room.
The site on which the Hotel is built is part of a downtown redevelopment in excess of $250 million that includes the new TVA Office of Power Complex and Computer Center, the Tallan Building, Warehouse Row and the Freight Depot.
The Hotel opened for business in July, 1985 and was financed by tax-exempt bonds totally $29,000,000 and a $5,100,000 Urban Development Action Grant.
